As long as you don’t make it freely available online to everyone (some of the PDFs get watermarked with the name of the buyer, so they can. In that case I’d give it a pass. Has anyone made any experiences with this? If the DriveThruRPG watermark shows on the prints, are there other. When I first started buying books on RPGNow, there were no watermarks. Suddenly, within the past few years, every book suddenly has.

A question about DrivethruRPG : rpg
I definitely don’t want to violate any copyright laws. I better get back to moving. Does anyone know how to modify this solution to get rid of a link watermark? Do not link to, request or encourage piracy in any way. Likely they dropped it as solving a non-existant problem not that piracy doesn’t exist, but using DTRPG for it direct is likely a trivial number.
Thank you for your interest in this question. Yeah, that’s our main problem with the PDF. Just a little add-on to Dingo’s answer as it did not work for me: Submit a new link. Only one of you is probably the “real” owner of the account by law, and the rest are doing copyright infringement. It doesn’t seem so bad after you have to spend a few hundred dollars per semester on books that aren’t even that fun: Sharing an account would likely be outside their terms of service anyway, so even that method isn’t following the rules.
Specially as he is probably the one who has made the pdf.
Article 1, Section 8, Clause 8 of the U. And when it costs the company no money to have something duplicated, and it isnt for monetary gain, does wateermark still fall under the original intention of copyright recooping costs? If we were using exact copyright, wouldn’t we need to pay for every time we move the file, is a hard drive the complete system?
Unfortunately, copyright law is screwed in more ways than one when it comes to original intention of the law to protect and recoup costs of development.
It’s hard for college students to afford the PDF for sure. I recall the idea as well, but haven’t seen mention of it in quite a while IIRC, it was a 5 time dl thing unless you contact us to reset it, likely to avoid rampant piracy.
Want to add to the discussion? This is a good piece of news! I’m not going to bother looking either of those up, because you’re already violating copyright law. I looked at pdftk man page and some examples but still can not figure out how to remove the watermarks.
The Hardcover book is 65 dollars, and if you buy it they can generously let you buy a copy of the PDF for only a small supplement of 22 additional dollars. Arbitrarily grubbing for money forever is fine because the people who make the laws wafermark it is rolls eyes.
It isn’t the same as music – I don’t want to read books on my computer. Thanks for the information. I log on and download things from 3 different personal computers, drivtehrurpg I’m pretty sure there’s nothing stopping you from having people log in separately or just emailing the PDF to everyone else after buying it. I’m thinking of it as an easier watermrak to handle sharing the book without having to pass around a physical copy between games and at the table, but I certainly don’t want to do anything like piracy.
Disney is a great example of why we need things to go into the public domain. My players would probably be fine with buying it if it didn’t cost so much. Warning, unnecessary and bad attempt at humor follows. Ragnarok, and we’ve found that character creation when a PC dies requires the GM to either meet with the players between games which is impractical for us, since we’re all pretty busy or answer tons of questions about archetypes and abilities through Facebook messages, which is also time consuming and difficult.

Someone starting out making a machine wouldn’t have the facilities to do so and so a big bisuness could swoop in, copy it and out put an exact replica without any development cost in a more efficient cost per item for each piece than the small developer.
Yeah, I went “Whaaaat? I personally don’t believe that piracy seriously impacts sales. A big theory is that copyright law was brought in because the cost of for example, creating a book or a machine from scratch was an exact art, and ofcourse it took alot of time to reproduce these, and so therefor it was put in place that if someone was reproducing these, it’d be at a cost, and therefor most likely there to make a profit.

Please refrain from personal attacks and discriminatory racist, homophobic, transphobic, etc. Though, to be fair, it’s been a while since I bought a book there that wasn’t free or kickstarter free. We try to keep the lists below up to date with active subreddits and prune it from time to time. I do want to listen to music on my computer.
Making a copy of a physical book is better analogy.
