It is important to remember what the early Church endured. Eusebius was not a historian as we think of one today.

It proceeds chronologically and systematically, documenting the growth of the Church as it fusebio from Jerusalem throughout the whole of the Roman Empire and beyond. Christians went peacefully to their deaths.

Book One – An account of the general history of the Old Testament. He begins by describing in highly emotive language the persecution of Christians under Diocletian.
