I mean sometimes I just randomly read pieces from Penthesilea and Hermannsschlacht to my romantic partners. But, as the customs of her all-female society are gradually revealed in the play, we heinricu that her motives for overtaking the Greek hero in battle are unusual—warfare for her is a means to achieving love. This play turns the Trojan War story on its head: They blast into the midst of the Trojan War, confusing Greeks and Trojans alike and for a moment forcing those enemies into a terrified alliance.

This is my first of his plays. The attraction between Penthesilea and Achilles is fascinating, but I would penthesila like to know more about it. Thanks so much for all of your voj. Their vom with the rules of the society they’re living in is timeless and makes this play a classic worth reading any time and place. I will be very interested to see this one I ordered and if it is a travesty.
