This book is a very good overview of the economical history of the the second millennium, it’s a very light book to read, it’s mostly appendices, tables and figures, the rest of the text persepctive almost pages. Amazingly detailed and meticulous quantification of the world’s economic performance over a millenium, leaving no lands, no civilisations, no society uncharted.
